Letter in Support of the ALCH

As an advocate for children and former Child Protective Services Worker,  I have seen firsthand the important role of the American Legion Children's Home in the improvement of life's circumstances for children from difficult places.  To me ALCH is a grand example of "no child left behind" because the ALCH allows children to reach their potential as citizens of this great nation when others may abandon and dismiss them.
For decades the American Legion has demonstrated a committment to the future of this country  through their compassion and support for children, our most valuable resource.  No child is left behind at ALCH...until of course the doors are closed and they are uprooted from the very home that gave them a chance to be all that they could be.   Lets keep the ALCH open so that the children can have a normal holiday experience, relatively free of grief and anxiety caused by the uncertainty of their future, and a chance to finish out the school year.  I fear leaving behind the needs of the children at this point could have very ugly outcomes.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and willingness to consider alternatives to closing ALCH.
