What Can You Do To Help?

We do believe there are ways to convince the board to at least keep the ALCH open for another 6 months to a) finish out the contract with DHS, and b) to enable kids to finish their school year.

WAYS TO HELP:

Please write a letter of support for the Home and email it to Legionnaire, Senator David Myers at savethechildrenshomeangels@yahoo.com. Please, let our leaders know that you are proud that Oklahoma has the ONLY American Legion Children’s Home in the nation, and that you object to their decision to close the Home. There are 82 years of history, 44 abused and neglected children, and 60 staff members depending on us to hold the Oklahoma Legion accountable.

You can help speak for the kids who are unable to defend themselves by contacting the Oklahoma American Legion.  If you want to call, David Kellerman is the person you would want to talk to and ask why he chose to close down the ALCH.  Tell him that you want the kids to have a safe place to live and at least have a stable living arrangement until the end of the school year!

Also, if you know of anyone who is part of the American Legion in another state, let them know about this, too!  If other states get involved, it might get the attention of the national Legion to intervene in this situation.
